My Holiday Book List

Books make the most wonderful gifts (to me)! I discovered a couple of years ago that I could make a list and promise not to buy the books on my list and they would be under the tree! So with that in mind, I made the following list and I thought it was worth sharing in case you are looking for gifts for the booklovers in your lives.

I’ll Take You There by Wally Lamb – I love all of his books and I can’t wait to read this one! He’s one of my favourite authors and it’s always worth the wait.

Swing Time by Zadie Smith – I’ll admit I wasn’t a huge fan of her first novel (and I think I stand alone in that one) but I really enjoyed the works that followed and it and this one looks fascinating.

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch – this book seems to be everywhere and it’s been posted on Reco lots but I’m interested because my friend M said she couldn’t put it down.

Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur – I’ve seen this book on a variety of different lists and I keep making note of it. I feel like I don’t read enough poetry in my life and this one seems like a great one to start with.

Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick – I think Anna Kendrick is fantastic and I can’t wait to read this one!

Here I Am by Jonathan Safran Foer – I admit I haven’t read any of his previous books but the story seems like one I’d be into and I like to find new authors.

All The Missing Girls by Megan Miranda – Indigo has this book listed as a “page-turner” and I love books that I can’t put down.

Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeleine Thien – this book won the Scotiabank Giller Prize this year and as I really enjoyed two of the other shortlisted books, I took a look and the story looks beautiful.

I’d be happy to find any of these under the tree and I’ll write about the ones I love in the New Year!

Happy Gift Giving!
